Meet Your Trainer
Hi, I’m Britt! I’m so excited to get to know you and your pup—both as individuals and as a team. I’ve spent over 15 years in the pet industry, and while I’ve always been a dog lover, my passion for truly helping dogs and their people grew as I found my way through different roles. I started out in pet retail, moved into dog walking and playgroups, and eventually discovered where I feel most at home and impactful—dog training.
Originally from a small town in Jersey, I came to Philly to attend Temple University and never expected this city to become my forever home—but now I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. Along the way, I’ve seen firsthand how different life can be for dogs in the city versus the suburbs and rural areas, and I love helping families navigate those transitions.
My experience spans basic and behavioral one-on-one training, puppy socialization, pack dynamics, group classes, and lifestyle outings, and I’m here to make training a fun, supportive, educational journey for both you and your pup.
Can’t wait to meet you—whether we bump into each other around the city or connect for a training session!

Our Approach
Education and Training…
At Mad Dog Training Co., our mission is to help people and their dogs build strong, trusting relationships through clear communication, play, and mutual understanding. We apply balanced training techniques with an open-minded approach, creating individualized plans that meet each dog’s unique needs and give every human the tools and confidence to succeed.
What motivates you? What motivates your dog? We firmly believe that the best type of training is training that each dog/human team will be able to integrate into their individual lifestyle in a manageable way. We’re here to meet you where you’re at and match that with realistic goals and expectations along the way.
Our focus is on sustainable, real-life skills—teaching dogs how to thrive in the human world while empowering owners to set them up for success. Training emphasizes communication, creating clarity through play, learning about your dog’s biological fulfillment and enrichment needs, appropriate socialization, and calm neutrality, all while strengthening the bond between dog and human. From brand-new puppies to rescues finding their footing to older dogs with established habits, we’re here to work with the dog and human team in front of us in building a foundation of trust, balance, and harmony!
… for Both Ends of the Leash
Why We’re Called Mad Dog Training Co.
I’ve loved dogs for as long as I can remember. Every birthday and Christmas since I could talk, I begged my mom for a dog—and on my 16th birthday, Maddie came home with me, at 12 weeks old and stayed by my side until she was 12. She’s the sweet face behind the logo and the inspiration for the company name.
Like so many of us, I had about a hundred nicknames for her, but the one that stuck was “Maddog.” Maddie had such a big personality—she loved tug-of-war and wrestling, could sniff out wildlife from a mile away, insisted on bedtime at 10 pm sharp, and happily ate just about anything she could get her paws on. She was active and adventurous, but also naturally knew how to slow down, spending countless hours curled up at my side when I was sick over the years, with absolutely 0 complaints.
When I brought her from my small North Jersey hometown to Philly in my 20s, it was a big transition for both of us. We were both learning and growing and while we made it work, looking back, I realize there was so much more I could have done to help her thrive in a new setting. That experience shaped my approach as a trainer and fuels my passion for helping other dogs and their people. I find myself catching glimpses of Maddog in every pup I work with.
So when it came time to name my company, I knew it had to be for her. Maddie taught me what it means for a dog to give you their whole self, to show up everyday the best they can, no matter what, and reminded me of something I deeply believe: we may not deserve dogs, but we can always strive to give them the life they deserve—and more.
